Idaho applies a five-year transfer review

Idaho's current 2026 eligibility guide describes a 60-month, or five-year, Medicaid Look-Back Period immediately before the application date for Nursing Home Medicaid and Medicaid Waiver applicants. Idaho Code separately makes transfers of real or personal property without adequate consideration voidable when made after the look-back dates in federal Medicaid law. A transfer penalty is not an automatic tax bill

The 2026 Idaho guide says a look-back violation can create a period of Medicaid ineligibility.
