The Aged and Disabled Waiver is a distinct program
CMS lists the ID Aged and Disabled Waiver, number 1076.R07.00, as approved and effective April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2028. CMS separately lists the Idaho Adult Developmental Disabilities Waiver, so an older adult's home-care planning should not assume that the disability waiver is the same program (CMS Idaho Aged and Disabled Waiver record; CMS Idaho Adult Developmental Disabilities Waiver record).
A current 2026 eligibility reference describes the Aged and Disabled Waiver as serving seniors and people with disabilities in homes, assisted living facilities, and adult foster-care homes. It reports possible benefits such as adult day care, meal delivery, attendant care, homemaker services, respite, and companion services; DHW, not a general list, decides the individual service plan (2026 Idaho Medicaid eligibility guide; Idaho DHW HCBS overview).
Enrollment availability is not guaranteed
Waiver services are not automatically available merely because a person needs care. The 2026 Idaho guide says Medicaid waivers have limited enrollment slots and waiting lists may exist, while the current DHW and CMS pages located for this research do not publish an Aged and Disabled Waiver waitlist count or a current enrollment cap (2026 Idaho Medicaid eligibility guide; CMS waiver record).
Idaho Home Choice can be relevant to a person leaving an institution. DHW says a participant must have lived at least 45 consecutive days in a nursing facility or qualifying intermediate-care facility, be Medicaid eligible at discharge, qualify for the Aged and Disabled or Developmental Disability waiver, and move to a qualified residence (Idaho DHW Idaho Home Choice).
Idaho's current elderly-and-disability Medicaid page likewise says people receive an assessment after Medicaid eligibility is determined to identify the level of care that will meet their needs. The assessment and an open waiver slot are separate practical questions (Idaho DHW elderly and disability Medicaid overview).
Do not assume an open slot: Idaho's Aged and Disabled Waiver is approved through March 31, 2028, but public sources located here do not give a live waitlist count. Check availability with DHW (
CMS waiver record).
