Louisiana Medicaid Asset Limits — FundingDependency.com

Louisiana's basic 2026 LTC resource limits

LDH's January 2026 LTC/HCBS chart lists a $2,000 resource limit for an individual and $3,000 for a couple. The same limits appear in Louisiana's non-MAGI resource policy for SSI-related applicants, but the classification and availability of a particular asset must still be determined under the manual (LDH Z-700, January 2026; LDH I-1630 resource policy).

LDH's consumer explanation says resources include cash and property that can be converted to cash for support and maintenance, and gives examples such as bank accounts, investment interests, life insurance, real estate, annuities, and trusts. It also says that some resources usually do not count, including home property, one vehicle, and certain life insurance, but a family's exact ownership and exemption facts control (LDH long-term-care FAQ).
