Nursing-facility MassHealth has financial and clinical steps

MassHealth’s long-term-care facility figures apply to a member living in a long-term-care facility. For 2026, the state lists a $72.80 monthly personal-needs allowance and long-term-care income standard, a $1,130,000 maximum home-equity limit, and the current spousal resource standards (MassHealth 2026 financial guidelines).

The financial regulation says MassHealth calculates the monthly patient-paid amount using long-term-care deductions in a stated order. Those deductions include the personal-needs allowance, spousal-maintenance and family-maintenance allowances where applicable, home maintenance, and health-care or incurred medical and remedial-care expenses (130 CMR 520.000).
